Tool design and Manufacture

Crichton Manufacturing design and produce all customer and private mould tools in-house, utilising cad/cam technology and precision vertical machine centres, operating 24 hours a day we are able to produce multi core tools at a fraction of the time and cost compared to conventional tool rooms.

Bolster sets are supplied by DMS along with pillars and bushes for perfect alignment, inserts are manufactured from H13 tool steel supplied by Bohler, rough machined, hardened to 56Hrc and then finish machined to the correct size and shape.

A hardened Aluminium Die Cast mould tool will last between 150000 and 200000 shots before any maintenance is required.
